Point load

The ISRM Commission on Testing Methods, formerly the Commission on Standardization of Laboratory and Field Tests, was established in 1967. Its main task is the drafting of “Suggested Methods” for rock testing. Its aim is to achieve some measure of standardization without inhibiting the development and improvement of techniques. The Point Load Strength Test was one of the first to be published (in 1972) by this Commission.
