EU INDIA 2006 Identification of strengthening strategies

Since the beginning of structural restoration, architects and engineers have envisaged and actually applied a wide variety of repair or strengthening interventions to improve the structural response of ancient masonry structures. Some of these interventions have been specifically implemented to upgrade the capacity of ancient structures to resist earthquake. The set of possible interventions is based on alternative operations involving different mechanical devices and repair materials.
